Anvil loppers are large, two-handed cutting tools. They are much bigger than hand pruners and are used for cutting thicker, dead, or mature branches (up to 30-50 mm in diameter). They use a sharp blade pressing against a flat base (the anvil) to cut thick wood with less effort.
